Job Description
- Deliver structured, systematic phonics lessons daily.
- Teach letter sounds, blending, segmenting, decoding, and encoding skills.
- Support early reading, spelling, and handwriting development.
- Prepare weekly lesson plans aligned with learning objectives.
- Use engaging teaching aids, games, and activities to reinforce learning.
- Identify emerging learners and provide targeted interventions.
- Assess and track pupils’ reading progress regularly.
- Maintain an organized, print-rich, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Collaborate with class teachers and parents to support learners’ progress.
Requirements
- Minimum of NCE / B.Ed Degree in Early Childhood Education, English, or related fields
- Must have completed NYSC.
- Proven experience teaching phonics in a preschool or primary school.
- Strong understanding of Jolly Phonics or other systematic phonics programs.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Patient, creative, and enthusiastic about early literacy development.
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
