URGENT VACANCY - FINANCE ASSOCIATE (Abuja)
Our client, a leading player in the energy sector in Abuja, is currently seeking to engage a qualified candidate for the position of a Finance Associate.
Role Description
The Finance Associate is responsible for managing and monitoring the end-to-end flow of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, timely approvals, and proper documentation across the organization. The role supports operational efficiency, cost control, and financial governance within the energy business.
Financial Operations & Controls
· Manage the end-to-end payment and approval workflow, from request initiation to final disbursement.
· Review payment requests to ensure compliance with approved budgets, contracts, and company policies.
· Track and monitor cash flow movements, ensuring proper documentation and audit trail.
· Liaise with banks, Procurement, and Operations teams to resolve payment or approval bottlenecks.
Budget & Cost Monitoring
· Support budget implementation by tracking expenses against approved budgets.
· Assist in monitoring project-related expenditures and operational costs.
Documentation & Compliance
· Ensure all financial transactions comply with internal controls, statutory requirements, and regulatory standards.
· Maintain accurate financial records and support audit requests.
Reporting & Process Improvement
· Prepare periodic reports on payment cycles, turnaround time, and cash flow status.
· Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and transparency.
. Support automation initiatives related to finance workflows and approvals.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
· 3–5 years’ experience in finance operations, preferably in energy, oil & gas, or infrastructure.
· Knowledge of financial controls, budgeting, and cash flow management.
· Experience working with Sage 200 systems and finance workflows.
