Job Overview
- The Head of Accounts is responsible for leading the finance and accounting function of the company by ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cash flow management, statutory compliance, budgeting, cost control, and financial governance.
- The role provides strategic financial leadership, supports project profitability, and ensures sound financial management across all construction projects and business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all accounting, treasury, payroll, taxation, and financial reporting activities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Develop and monitor budgets, cash flow forecasts, and project financial performance.
- Implement cost control measures and monitor project expenditures to maximize profitability.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and all statutory reporting requirements.
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and fixed asset registers.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and financial policies.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations to Management to support decision-making.
- Supervise and develop the accounting team, ensuring high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- ACA, ACCA, or ICAN certification is mandatory.
- Master's Degree or MBA is an added advantage.
