About the Role
- We are looking for a detail-driven *Pharmacy Procurement Officer* to manage the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory of pharmaceutical products for our pharmacy in Victoria Island.
- You will ensure we maintain adequate stock of drugs and medical supplies, negotiate with vendors, and comply with NAFDAC/PCN regulations while controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing & Purchasing: Identify, evaluate, and source drugs, consumables, and medical supplies from approved distributors and manufacturers
- Vendor Management: Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers. Maintain strong relationships with NAFDAC-registered vendors
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand, and prevent stock-outs or expiry. Conduct regular stock counts and reconciliations
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all purchases comply with PCN, NAFDAC, and pharmacy board guidelines. Maintain proper documentation of invoices, batch numbers, and expiry dates
- Cost Management: Compare prices, obtain quotations, and recommend cost-saving measures without compromising quality
- Order Processing: Raise LPOs, track deliveries, verify goods received, and resolve discrepancies with suppliers
- Reporting: Prepare weekly/monthly procurement reports, budget forecasts, and spend analysis for management
- Collaboration: Work closely with the pharmacist-in-charge, sales, and finance teams to align procurement with sales trends.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of HND, or BSc in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Supply Chain, or related field. Pharmacy Technician qualification considered with experience
- Experience: 2-4 years experience in pharmacy procurement, hospital pharmacy, or FMCG/pharma distribution
- Knowledge: Good understanding of drug categories, NAFDAC regulations, cold chain requirements, and PCN guidelines
Skills:
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficient in MS Excel and inventory management software
- Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping
- Analytical mindset for forecasting and budget control
- Other: Must reside in or be willing to work from Victoria Island. Integrity and confidentiality are critical
Salary
N200,000 – N250,000 per month
