Insurance Claims Officer

Job Summary
- The Insurance & Claims Officer will be responsible for coordinating and managing all company insurance policies, ensuring timely renewals, proper documentation, and efficient handling of claims.
- The role involves liaising with insurance brokers and providers to ensure adequate coverage and prompt resolution of claims in line with company operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an up-to-date register of all company insurance policies (e.g.motor, plant & machinery, contractors’ all risk, group life, etc.)
- Track policy expiration dates and ensure timely renewals to avoid lapses in coverage
- Liaise with insurance brokers and companies on policy placement, renewals, and endorsements
- Coordinate and follow up on all insurance claims to ensure timely processing and settlement
- Gather and submit required documentation for claims (incident reports, photos, estimates, etc.)
- Monitor claims status and provide regular updates to management
- Ensure all insurance certificates and documents are properly filed and easily accessible
- Support project teams with insurance-related documentation and compliance requirements
- Review insurance policies to ensure alignment with company operations and contractual obligations
- Assist in verifying insurance requirements in contracts and agreements
- Provide periodic reports on insurance coverage, renewals, and claims status.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- 1–3 years relevant experience in insurance administration, claims handling, or similar roles
- Experience working with insurance brokers or companies is an advantage
- Basic understanding of corporate insurance policies (e.g.motor, asset, project-related insurance)
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
- Good communication and follow-up skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

Preferred (Optional but Useful):
- Experience in construction, infrastructure, or engineering environment
- Professional certification (e.g.CIIN) is an added advantage.
Salary
N250,000 - N350,000 monthly.
