Summary
- Our client, in the FMCG Sector is seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Finance Manager to lead the company’s financial management functions and provide strategic financial insights that support business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in financial management, preferably within the FMCG industry, and demonstrate strong leadership, financial control, compliance, and analytical capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial strategies that enhance business performance and profitability.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and performance management processes.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, receivables, payables, and overall financial position.
- Drive effective cost management and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
- Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, accounting standards, and company policies.
- Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the Finance/Accounts team to achieve high performance and efficiency.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial reports for Management.
- Manage relationships with banks, external auditors, tax authorities, regulatory bodies, and other financial stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks and leakages.
- Oversee internal and external financial audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
- Monitor financial activities across the company's outlets and ensure adherence to approved financial procedures.
- Review financial transactions, expenses, inventory-related costs, sales revenue, and other business activities to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Support Senior Management in financial decision-making, business planning, and long-term strategic initiatives.
- Develop financial models and utilize data-driven analysis to support business decisions.
- Identify financial risks and implement appropriate mitigation and control measures.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by Management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- BSc / M.Sc. / MBA Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or CPA is required.
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial position.
- Strong FMCG experience is highly desirable and will be given significant consideration.
- Extensive knowledge of financial regulations, Nigerian tax laws, accounting principles, and financial reporting standards.
- Proven experience managing finance operations within a retail, FMCG, distribution, or multi-outlet business environment.
- Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, financial analysis, and internal controls.
- Experience managing audits and relationships with banks, auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in financial management software, accounting applications, and ERP systems.
