Corporate Lawyer – Documentation & Compliance

Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Corporate Lawyer to join our team and take responsibility for the organisation’s legal documentation, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and general legal affairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and manage corporate, commercial, employment, and other legal documents.
- Draft and review contracts, agreements, NDAs, service agreements, letters, legal notices, and other corporate documents.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date repository of the organization's legal and corporate documentation.
- Monitor compliance with applicable laws, regulations, statutory requirements, and regulatory obligations.
- Conduct periodic compliance reviews and identify potential legal and regulatory risks.
- Provide legal advice to management and various departments on business operations and transactions.
- Review business processes and policies to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Support the development, review, and implementation of company policies, SOPs, and internal controls.
- Maintain records of statutory filings, licenses, permits, certifications, and regulatory documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, external solicitors, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders when required.
- Monitor contractual obligations, renewals, expirations, and compliance requirements.
- Conduct legal research and provide updates on changes in relevant legislation and regulations.
- Assist with corporate governance matters, including preparation of resolutions, minutes, and other corporate records.
- Identify, assess, and escalate potential legal risks to management.
- Support the organization in dispute resolution and litigation matters where necessary.
- Ensure proper documentation and legal records are maintained for audit and compliance purposes.
- Perform other legal and compliance-related duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- LL.B. (Bachelor of Laws)from a recognized institution.
- Call to the Nigerian Bar is mandatory.
- 3–5 years of relevant post-call experience,
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate and commercial laws and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience in contract drafting, review, and negotiation.
- Excellent legal research, writing, drafting, and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation management skills.
- Ability to identify legal and compliance risks and recommend practical solutions.
- Good understanding of corporate governance principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
