Job Summary
- Industryspecific jobsWe are seeking an experienced, innovative and technology driven ICT Teacher who can inspire pupils to develop strong digital skills and prepare them for an increasingly technology driven world.
Key Responsibilties
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering engaging ICT and Computing lessons in line with the British curriculum.
- Teaching pupils appropriate computing, digital literacy and technology skills across relevant year groups.
- Preparing pupils for relevant IGCSE ICT/Computer Science examinations, where applicable.
- Developing pupils’ practical understanding of computers, software, coding, digital applications and emerging technologies.
- Using innovative and age appropriate approaches to make ICT engaging and accessible to pupils.
- Assessing pupils’ learning and maintaining accurate records of their progress.
- Supporting pupils in developing problem solving, computational thinking and digital creativity.
- Integrating technology across other areas of the curriculum where appropriate.
- Maintaining appropriate standards of online safety and responsible technology use.
- Supporting ICT related clubs, competitions, projects and extracurricular activities.
- Working collaboratively with other teachers and school leadership to strengthen the school’s technology and STEAM programmes.
- Supporting the school’s Christian ethos and contributing to the holistic development of pupils.
Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an "A" List University, with a minimum of Second Class Upper Division (2:1), preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, ICT, Education or a related discipline with 3 - 4 years’ teaching experience in a reputable school or educational institution.
- Valid TRCN certification is compulsory.
- Completion of NYSC is compulsory.
- IGCSE qualification/certification is compulsory.
- Demonstrable experience teaching ICT, Computing or Computer Science within a British curriculum environment.
- Strong understanding of the British curriculum and IGCSE requirements.
- Strong practical knowledge of computer applications, digital technology and relevant educational technology tools.
- Experience preparing pupils for external examinations will be an advantage.
- Excellent classroom management, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to introduce innovative technology based learning experiences.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- A genuine passion for technology, teaching and developing pupils’ digital capabilities.
- Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, creativity and alignment with the Christian values of Pinefield Schools.
