Job Summary
- Our client, a leading and well established Microfinance Bank, is currently seeking qualified and experienced Legal Practitioner to join its growing team.
- Provides day-to-day legal support to the Legal Department, assisting with contract review, legal research, document preparation, and compliance monitoring. The role supports the smooth operation of legal processes across the holding company’s diverse business arms, while developing core in-house legal skills.
Job Description
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and proofreading contracts and legal documents.
- Conduct legal research on commercial, regulatory, finance, real estate and technology matters.
- Support preparation of Board and Committee packs, resolutions and meeting documentation.
- Maintain legal templates, registers, contract databases, and compliance trackers.
- Support monitoring business operations for legal and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare legal memos, opinions, position papers, and case notes.
- Review policies and business documents for legal compliance.
- Monitor changes in applicable laws and regulations and flag relevant risks.
- Maintain litigation records and assist with dispute and pre-litigation matters.
- Liaise with external counsel on court filings, hearings and legal documentation.
- Assist with statutory registers and corporate secretarial records.
Qualification & Experience
- LL.B. and from a recognised university and called to the Nigerian Bar. (BL) with 2 – 4 years’ post-call experience, preferably in a law firm or financial institution.
- Experience in contract drafting / review, legal research and regulatory compliance.
- Basic exposure to litigation/dispute management and corporate governance/company secretarial matters.
- Strong legal drafting, analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with good attention to detail and confidentiality.
Salary
N300,000 - N500,000 monthly.
