Head, Human Resources
Location: Lagos
Job Purpose
- Reporting to the Managing Diretor, and managing the HR team, the role is responsible for planning, directing and co-ordinating HR strategy, activities, policies and programs for the entire Group, and also oversees the management of PPC’s premises and fleet.
Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Culture:
- Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues
- Contribute information, analysis, and recommendations to organization strategic thinking
- Direct & establish human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives
- Drives understanding of cultural norms, traditions, and working with diverse teams
- Guides management and employee actions by communicating and enforcing organization values
- Making informed business decisions based on data and statistics
- Collaborate with Executives and senior leadership to align HR policies with the company’s strategic goals.
Talent Management
- Talent acquisition, management and development support across all verticals
- Strategic Workforce Planning
- Effectively structure benefits programs to attract and retain top talent
- Hire and onboard new employees and negotiate employment agreements
Portfolio Management:
- Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization's policies, procedures and practices on personnel matters.
- Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
- Communicates changes in the organization's personnel policies and procedures and ensures that proper compliance is followed.
- Plans and executes HR functions strategically such as performance management, employee experience, training & development
- Ensure effective and efficient HR & Admin service delivery.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
- Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of the Job Description organization's payroll and benefits program.
- Ensure proper documentation in both electronic and hard copy format through a clear and concise reference system.
- Manage and implement compensation and benefits scheme
Learning & Development and Succession Planning:
- Works directly with department managers to assist them in creating L&D Plans
- Identifies top talent for succession planning
- Recommend, evaluate and participate in staff development for the organization.
- Direct the development and implementation of organizational development programs, employee orientation and training programs,
- Develop effective training programs
- Create and implement performance management systems
- Utilizing technology to enhance and measure the results of human resources programs
Office Facility & Fleet Management:
- Ensures the security, cleanliness, porterage of all office premises
- Ensures the monitoring of contracts/contractors, - office equipment, furniture, materials etc
- Ensures the routine maintenance and refurbishment of office premises
- Ensures safe and proper usage of all company vehicles and monitors such.
Person Specification
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Candidate must possess CIPM/CIPD/SHRM/HRCI/SPHR
- At least 10 years’ experience with minimum three years post qualification and in senior management.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
- Ability to Multitask, and work without supervision and buildthe competencies of the HR Team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High ethical standards, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
- Strategic vision paired with hands-on execution skills.
- Strong decision-making capacity under pressure and complex organization dynamics
