Performance and Cost:

Requirements

IFRS, ICFR and Control Knowledge:

  • Candidates for senior and specialist roles should have a sound working knowledge of the IFRS requirements relevant to a manufacturing and export business — including inventory, revenue, property, plant and equipment, leases, financial instruments, foreign exchange, taxation, provisions, impairment and cash flows.
  • Strong candidates will also understand ICFR and COSO-based control principles:
  • Financial reporting risks and assertions
  • Risk and Control Matrices (RCMs)
  • Control design and operating effectiveness
  • Segregation of duties
  • Reconciliations and balance-sheet substantiation
  • Control evidence and audit trails
  • Control deficiencies and remediation
  • IT-dependent financial controls

  • Familiarity with IFRS 18 and readiness for its implementation will be an advantage, given its effective date for annual periods beginning 1 January 2027.

Manufacturing and Business Orientation:

  • Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, cocoa, commodity trading, food processing or export will be highly advantageous.
  • We particularly value professionals who understand how finance connects to operations across the full chain:
  • Production→ Cost →Inventory → Sales→ Working Capital →Profitability → Cash Flow
  • You should be able to turn financial information into practical management decisions on production efficiency, product costing and margins, inventory losses and variances, procurement and operating costs, pricing and customer profitability, working capital, capital expenditure, and business risks and controls.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline
  • A relevant professional qualification — ICAN, ACCA, CIMA, CFA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, or an appropriate ESG / sustainability certification, depending on the role
  • Minimum of 3 years' relevant post-qualification experience
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • High integrity and sound professional judgement
  • Good working knowledge of accounting systems / ERP and Microsoft Excel
