Supply Chain Officer


Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time


Purpose of Role


Oversee end‑to‑end flow of medical and non‑medical goods, ensuring timely, cost‑effective, and compliant delivery to support patient care.

Key Responsibilities


Procurement & Purchasing: Source, evaluate, and select suppliers; issue purchase orders; negotiate contracts for pharmaceuticals, equipment, and consumables.

- Inventory & Stock Management – Maintain accurate stock levels, conduct regular audits, track expiration dates, and implement reorder points to prevent shortages or over‑stocking.

Logistics & Distribution: Coordinate inbound and outbound transport, manage receiving, storage, and internal distribution to wards, labs, and theatres.

Vendor & Supplier Relations: Build strong partnerships, monitor supplier performance, resolve delivery issues, and ensure compliance with service‑level agreements.

Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to healthcare regulations (e.g., FDA, NAFDAC, local health authority), maintain documentation for audits, and enforce safety standards for handling hazardous materials.

Data Analysis & Reporting: Use ERP/Inventory systems to generate usage reports, cost analyses, and forecast demand; present insights to senior management.

Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks, implement lean or Six Sigma initiatives, and standardize procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce waste 

Risk Management: Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, monitor market trends, and maintain emergency stockpiles for critical items.

Cross‑Department Collaboration: Work with clinical, finance, and operations teams to align supply chain activities with patient care needs and budgetary constraints.

Technology Utilization: Operate and maintain supply‑chain software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, hospital ERP), ensure data integrity, and train staff on system use.


Required Skills & Qualifications


Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.

4 – 5 years experience in healthcare supply chain or hospital logistics.

Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.

Proficiency with inventory management systems and MS Office (especially Excel).

Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality standards.

Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Must be a Male, reside on the island environs.
