Internal Audit Officer

Job Summary
- To support the audit department by assisting in reviewing financial transactions, testing internal controls and ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards within the healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting routine internal audits, financial reviews and operational assessments
- Verify financial transactions, vouchers, and accounting records to ensure accuracy, proper documentation and compliance
- Examine internal controls and identify areas of potential risk or operational leakages
- Prepare clear and concise audit working papers and draft reports
- Follow up on the implementation of previous audit recommendations to ensure corrective actions are taken
- Evaluate compliance with healthcare sector guidelines, statutory tax laws and internal policies
Requirement and Qualifications
- Education; Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Banking and Finance, Economics, or other related fields
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in audit, accounting or financial operations, strictly within the health sector
Competencies & Skills:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and basic audit methodologies.
- Familiarity with healthcare billing systems, medical claims tracking or hospital inventory workflow is a plus
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset and objective thinking
- High level of personal integrity and confidentiality
- Proficiency in accounting packages and Microsoft Excel
Remuneration
