Finance & Accounts Manager

Job Summary
- Leads the finance function and is responsible for sound financial management, accurate reporting, strong internal controls, cash and treasury management, and tax and statutory compliance across the company’s retail network, including fuel, CNG, EV charging and other products..
- Provides financial insight that supports the company’s growth, profitability and decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements in line with IFRS/LIRS and applicable Nigerian law.
- Analyse sales, margins, stock gains and losses, and costs by station and product, and report variances with recommendations.
- Coordinate the annual budget and periodic forecasts and monitor performance against budget.
Cash, Treasury and Revenue Assurance:
- Manage cash flow, liquidity and bank relationships, ensuring the company can meet its supplier, payroll and statutory obligations.
- Ensure daily station sales are reconciled to bank lodgements, POS settlements and fleet-card collections, and investigate shortfalls promptly.
- Approve payments in line with the company’s authority matrix and maintain strict control over disbursements.
Accounting Operations:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, including supplier reconciliations, product-purchase accounting and credit control for corporate and fleet customers.
- Ensure accurate inventory accounting and valuation of fuel, lubricants and shop items, including stock loss and gain analysis.
- Maintain the fixed-asset register and ensure correctcapitalizationand depreciation.
- Work with HR to process payroll accurately and on time.
Tax and Statutory Compliance:
- Ensure timely computation, filing and payment of company income tax, VAT, withholding tax and PAYE, and compliance with pension, NSITF, ITF and other statutory obligations.
- Maintain good relationships with tax and regulatory authorities and manage tax audits and queries.
Controls, Audit and Leadership:
- Design and enforce financial policies, procedures and internal controls, and strengthen cash and stock controls at stations.
- Coordinate external audits and implement audit recommendations with Risk and Compliance.
- Support investment appraisals, new-station feasibility and capital-expenditure decisions.
- Lead, develop and appraise the finance team.
Salary
N550,000 - N700,000 per month.
