Technical Sales Executive

Role Summary
The Technical Sales Executive will be responsible for generating new business, managing technical sales opportunities, and expanding market presence across the industrial, engineering, oil & gas, power, infrastructure,FMCG,and related sectors.
The role includes prospecting, solution selling, client engagement, bid support, and contract conversion, with a strong emphasis on revenue growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilties
Technical Sales:
Identify and pursue technically complex sales opportunities
Engage clients to understand technical requirements and project scope
Prepare and present technically sound and commercially competitive proposals
Support RFQs, tenders, bids, technical clarifications, and negotiations
Drive opportunities from enquiry to contract award and close-out.
Business Development:
Proactively identify new clients, sectors, and market opportunities
Generate qualified leads through networking, site visits, referrals, and market intelligence
Develop and manage a structured sales and business development pipeline
Support the development of strategic partnerships and long-term client relationships.
Client & Account Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, EPCs, and key decision-makers
Serve as the commercial and technical interface for assigned accounts
Grow existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling opportunities
Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and repeat business.
Commercial & Pricing Support:
Support pricing development with a focus on profitability and competitiveness
Understand landed cost components including logistics, duties, FX exposure, and delivery
Maintain adherence to approved pricing and margin guidelines.
Reporting & Coordination:
Maintain accurate sales pipeline and opportunity tracking
Prepare periodic reports on leads, bids, wins, losses, and forecasts
Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and technical partners
Escalate risks or commercial issues early and proactively.
Qualifications & Experience
A good University Degree
3 - 5 years experience in technical sales, business development, or engineering-related commercial roles
Proven track record in new business acquisition and revenue growth
Experience working with industrial clients, EPCs, OEMs, or project-driven environments
Ability to manage technically and commercially complex sales cycles
Required Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical comprehension and analytical skills
Business development mindset with strong prospecting capability
Commercial awareness and negotiation skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and datasheets

Renumeration & Benefits
Monthly Salary: N200,000 – N250,000
Commissions: Performance-based sales commissions
