Production Engineer

Job Summary
The Production Engineer will be responsible for optimizing hydrocarbon production, improving well performance, enhancing reservoir recovery, and ensuring operational efficiency in line with safety, regulatory, and client standards.
The role requires strong technical capability in production systems analysis, well performance monitoring, artificial lift systems, and field optimization strategies.
Preferred candidates will be resident in Port Harcourt, Rivers State or willing to relocate as the role is at Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Key Responsibilities
Production Optimization & Surveillance:
Monitor well performance using production data and recommend optimization strategies.
Conduct nodal analysis and production system modeling.
Identify production bottlenecks and implement remedial actions.
Support artificial lift design, selection, and optimization (ESP, Gas Lift, Rod Pump, etc.).
Well & Field Operations Support:
Provide engineering support for well start-ups, shut-ins, and workovers.
Coordinate production enhancement initiatives and well intervention programs.
Collaborate with reservoir and drilling teams to maximize recovery.
Production Data Analysis & Reporting:
Analyze daily production reports, trends, and KPIs.
Prepare technical reports, forecasts, and performance evaluations.
Develop production strategies aligned with asset objectives.
Facilities & Flow Assurance:
Monitor surface production systems (separators, flowlines, manifolds).
Identify and mitigate flow assurance challenges (hydration, scaling, wax deposition).
Ensure safe and efficient operations of processing facilities.
HSE & Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Nigerian oil & gas regulatory standards.
Participate in risk assessments and incident investigations.
Promote adherence to HSE policies and operational best practices.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Eng./B.Sc.) in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
COREN registration (or in progress) is mandatory.
1–5 years’ experience in production engineering within oil & gas servicing or E&P companies.
Relevant professional certifications are an added advantage.
Technical Competencies:
Strong knowledge of production engineering principles and well performance analysis.
Proficiency in production modeling software (e.g., Prosper, GAP, Pipesim or equivalent).
Experience with artificial lift systems and well intervention planning.
Understanding of reservoir-production integration.
Solid grasp of flow assurance and surface production systems.

Salary
N350,000 - N500,000 monthly.
