Job Summary
The Logistics Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the movement, storage, and availability of aircraft parts, ground support equipment, catering supplies, and other operational materials to ensure uninterrupted airline operations.
The role supports flight schedules, maintenance activities, and regulatory compliance while optimizing cost, time, and inventory levels.
Duties / Responsibilities
Inventory & Materials Management:
Manage inventory of aircraft parts, tools, consumables, catering items, and ground handling supplies
Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of aviation materials in accordance with OEM and aviation authority standards
Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies.
Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination:
Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics for aircraft parts, AOG (Aircraft on Ground) materials, and operational supplies
Arrange transportation (air, sea, road) with freight forwarders and courier services
Track shipments and ensure timely delivery to maintenance bases and outstations
Handle urgent AOG logistics to minimize aircraft downtime
Maintenance & Operations Support:
Liaise with Maintenance, Engineering, Ground Operations, and Flight Operations teams
Ensure timely availability of parts for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance
Support line maintenance and base maintenance logistics requirements
Coordinate logistics support for new aircraft induction and phase-in/phase-out projects
Documentation & Compliance:
Prepare and manage shipping documents (AWB, invoices, packing lists, certificates)
Ensure compliance with aviation regulations (IATA, ICAO, EASA/FAA, local NCAAs)
Maintain accurate logistics records and traceability of aircraft parts
Support audits and inspections by aviation authorities and internal quality teams
Vendor & Cost Management:
Liaise with suppliers, vendors, and repair stations
Evaluate supplier performance and delivery timelines
Support procurement activities and cost-control initiatives
Assist in negotiating logistics rates and service agreements
Customs & Regulatory Clearance:
Coordinate customs clearance for international shipments
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and hazardous materials handling
Resolve customs or shipment delays efficiently
Reporting & Systems:
Update logistics and inventory systems (SAM, AMOS, TRAX, SAP, or similar)
Prepare logistics performance reports and KPIs
Track logistics costs, delays, and efficiency metrics
Required Skills & Competencies:

Time-critical shipment handling
Regulatory compliance and documentation
Cost optimization and vendor management
Ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 airline environment
Experience & Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Aviation Management, or related field
2–6 years of logistics or supply chain experience (airline or aviation industry preferred)
Knowledge of aircraft parts logistics and AOG handling
Familiarity with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
Experience with aviation ERP/MRO systems (SAM, AMOS, TRAX, RAMCO, etc.)
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
Shift work, including nights, weekends, and public holidays where necessary.
High-pressure operational environment
Occasional travel to outstations or suppliers where necessary.
